If yes, the Attorney III position at the California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB) may be the opportunity you seek.

Under the general direction of the Attorney Supervisor, the Attorney III advises on complex and sensitive legal matters affecting CalVCB and effectively performs the more difficult and complex litigation and investigations, hearings, negotiations, and legal research for CalVCB with minimal supervision, broad discretion, and independence. The Attorney III utilizes appropriate oral and written advocacy skills, interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, personal knowledge, training, rules, laws, regulations, legal practices, and CalVCB policies and practices consistent with the direction of the Chief Counsel to perform essential functions.

This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in person at least two (2) days per week and as needed/required. Beginning July 1, 2026, employees will be required to work in-person at least four (4) days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25.

This position is designated under the Conflict-of-Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year. Failure to comply with the Conflict-of-Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. We do not accept STEM-OPT.
