About this role

Experienced Litigation Paralegal

Nashville, Tennessee (In-Office)

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 100% Employer-Paid Health & Dental Insurance Unlimited PTO

Let's get the important stuff out of the way first.

This is an in-office position in Nashville. We don't have a dress code. We embrace technology every day. We swear more than HR departments would probably recommend. We work hard, laugh a lot, and genuinely enjoy coming to work.

If you're looking for a traditional law firm where everyone wears suits, whispers in the hallways, and prints every email... this isn't it.

If you're looking for a place where your opinion is heard, your work matters, and you're surrounded by people who genuinely enjoy building something better, keep reading.

About Us

The Law Office of Jennifer McCoy represents property owners and managers throughout our seven state footprint in litigation, fair housing matters, collections, commercial disputes, and appeals.

We're obsessive about efficiency. If we're doing something manually that technology can do better, we're going to automate it. If technology can save us ten hours a week, we're using it. We challenge each other constantly to ask, "Why are we doing it this way?"

We're building the law firm we'd actually want to work at.

Who We're Looking For

We need an experienced litigation paralegal who can hit the ground running.

This isn't an administrative position. This is a legal position for someone who enjoys writing, thinking, researching, organizing, and keeping litigation moving from start to finish.

You won't spend your day scheduling conference rooms or answering phones.

You won't be a paper pusher. You'll be an essential member of our litigation team, working directly with attorneys to prepare cases, solve problems, and keep litigation moving forward.

What You'll Do

Your day will include things like:

  • Drafting correspondence to residents, opposing counsel, judges, and government agencies.
  • Preparing cases from beginning to trial.
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, notices, and other legal documents.
  • Filing pleadings with courts throughout our seven state footprint
  • Conducting legal research.
  • Drafting legal memoranda and helping develop legal strategy.
  • Reviewing files and identifying issues before they become problems.
  • Working directly with attorneys to move hundreds of litigation files efficiently.

Who You Are

You probably belong here if:

  • You love writing.
  • You notice details other people miss.
  • You can manage multiple deadlines without panicking.
  • You don't need someone checking on you every 30 minutes.
  • You like solving problems instead of creating them.
  • You enjoy learning new technology.
  • You're curious, resourceful, and not afraid to say, "I found a better way."

Experience in litigation is required.

Experience in landlord-tenant law is a bonus, but it's far less important than being smart, dependable, and a great writer.

What We Offer

  • $75,000–$90,000 salary based on experience.
  • 100% employer-paid health insurance.
  • 100% employer-paid dental insurance.
  • Unlimited PTO. We hire adults and treat them like adults.
  • Paid holidays.
  • A casual office. Wear whatever makes sense for your day.
  • A team that genuinely likes working together.
  • Lots of autonomy.
  • Lots of laughter.
  • The opportunity to help build something instead of simply maintaining it.

One Final Thought

We can teach someone landlord-tenant law.

We cannot teach intellectual curiosity.

We cannot teach ownership.

We cannot teach kindness.

And we definitely can't teach someone to care about doing excellent work.

If you're looking for a place where you'll be challenged, trusted, respected, and probably laugh every single day, we'd love to meet you.

If you're offended by profanity, uncomfortable with technology, or looking for a place where "that's not my job" is an acceptable answer, we're probably not the right fit.

If this sounds like your kind of place, apply. We'd love to talk.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off

Work Location: In person
