About this role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling residential and commercial real estate transactions. The paralegal will support attorneys by managing all aspects of real estate closings from contract to post-closing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage real estate transactions from start to finish, including title searches, title commitments, and closing documents.
  • Prepare and review closing disclosures, settlement statements (ALTA), deeds, and loan documents.
  • Conduct title searches and identify issues that may impact closing.
  • Order and review title insurance, surveys, payoff statements, and lien searches.
  • Communicate with clients, lenders, realtors, and title companies
  • Schedule and facilitate closings
  • E-recording of deeds and deeds of trust (CSC).
  • Maintain organized closing files and ensure compliance with all firm policies.
  • Handle post-closing matters including disbursement, final title policies, and file archiving.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; Paralegal certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience.
  • Proficiency with SoftPro and CSC software is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of North Carolina real estate laws and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in both residential and commercial closings.
  • Notary Public in North Carolina (preferred or willing to obtain).
  • Experience working in a law firm, bank, or title insurance company.
