About the Role

You will act as trusted, embedded advisors responsible for mitigating legal risk while actively enabling the business to achieve its commercial objectives. This role serves a dual purpose as both legal experts and strategic business partners, providing tailored advice on compliance, contract negotiation, and risk management directly to company executives and departments.

Key Responsibilities

Disputes & Litigation

  • Manage the commercial and contractual disputes portfolio, including litigation strategy, Court and Tribunal appearances, settlement negotiations, and liaising with external counsel.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders on conflict resolutions strategies.
  • Manage internal reporting and escalations of disputes.
  • Drive process improvements on the management, enforcement and reporting of the disputes portfolio.
  • Debt collection.

Commercial, Contracting and Marketing

  • Draft, review, negotiate and advise on all kinds of legal documents.
  • Provide pragmatic advice to internal stakeholders on contract risks, obligations, and mitigations.

Legal Operations & Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement efficiencies in legal processes and reporting.
  • Manage matter tracking, success metrics, and future planning for legal technology and tools.
  • Produce regular reports and insights for senior stakeholders.

Regulatory, Privacy & Compliance

  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide clear, actionable advice to the business.

Corporate Governance

  • Draft and update corporate policies, procedures, and governance documents.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and ensure governance frameworks remain current and practical.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ post qualification experience, gained in a reputable law firm or corporate legal environment, with JD, LLM, and/or LLB degree, bar is a plus
  • Legal Practising Certificate
  • Clear and professional in both written and verbal communication, fluency in Mandarin is a plus
  • Highly organised and accurate with a high level of attention to detail
  • Familiar with heavy equipment related laws and regulations, able to deal with general company law, labor law, prior experience in or knowledge of heavy equipment or related industry is a plus
  • Familiar with the establishment and optimization of the company's legal system and process, system establishment and process optimization experience is preferred
