About the role

We are seeking an ambitious and proactive Legal Assistant to join our highly regarded Sydney Commercial practice. This role will provide dedicated support to 3 Partners and a close knit team within the Technology, IP and Patent Litigation space. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to further develop their legal career in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Your duties will include:

  • Correspondence and complete matter management
  • Time entry and monthly billing
  • Reformatting complex documents
  • Maintaining the team’s client database
  • Booking travel arrangements
  • Diary management and co-ordinating meetings
  • Manual and electronic filing and general administrative duties
  • Conducting IP searches, expert witness searches and engagement and
  • Assistance in the preparation of briefs to counsel.

About you

You enjoy providing exceptional support and thrive in a high-energy environment. You are genuinely interested in intellectual property, pharmaceuticals, biotech and life sciences. You want to build a career as a Legal Assistant in a modern law firm supported by a friendly and professional team.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in a specialist IP firm or patent litigation firm is highly regarded
  • Good analytical and search skills
  • A proactive approach and enthusiasm to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and efficient time management skills
  • A high level of professionalism, a personable and friendly disposition, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels and
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and experience with billing systems (Aderant Expert).
