Six Month Contract Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a senior Corporate/M&A lawyer to step into a key in-house role within a fast-growing national organisation undertaking an active acquisition strategy.

Reporting to the General Counsel and working closely with the executive leadership team, you will take ownership of the organisation’s M&A and corporate transactional work during a period of internal secondment.

This is a hands-on, high-trust role offering genuine autonomy and end-to-end responsibility across transactions.

What you will be doing

• Leading acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and strategic transactions
• Running deals end-to-end including structuring, due diligence, negotiation and completion
• Supporting post-deal integration and governance workstreams
• Advising senior stakeholders on corporate and commercial matters
• Building and refining internal M&A processes, playbooks and frameworks
• Managing external counsel and driving efficient legal spend

About you

• Australian-qualified lawyer (current practising certificate)
• Minimum of 6 years’ PQE in Corporate/M&A
• Strong transactional background in private practice and/or in-house
• Proven ability to lead deals and manage stakeholders directly
• Commercial, pragmatic and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
• Strong drafting, negotiation and project management capability

Experience in regulated industries is welcome but not essential.
