As our litigation department continues to grow, we are seeking a Senior Trial Counsel to help lead and strengthen our litigation practice. This is an opportunity for an experienced litigator to handle meaningful cases, mentor junior attorneys, work directly with firm leadership, and play a key role in shaping the future of the department.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of high steak personal injury litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Develop and execute case strategy for settlement and trial
• Draft and argue motions, including discovery motions, motions in limine, and other pre-trial matters
• Take and defend party, witness, and expert depositions
• Attend hearings, mediations, mandatory settlement conferences, and trial-related proceedings
• Evaluate liability, damages, and litigation risk to maximize case value
• Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit preparation, and trial strategy
• Mentor and support junior attorneys and litigation staff
• Collaborate with partners on case strategy, department processes, and litigation best practices

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing
• 7+ years of California Civil & Personal injury litigation experience
• Insurance defense litigation and trial experience highly valued
• Significant experience handling depositions, law and motion practice, mediations, and trials
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and case management skills
• Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters
• Experience mentoring junior attorneys or litigation staff is preferred
• Chinese language skills are a plus, but not required
