About this role

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Attorney to join our growing personal injury team in a unique, purpose-built role. In this position, you will lead a dedicated pod focused on two specialized case types: Texas minor settlement approvals (friendly suits) and out-of-state personal injury matters. You will work out-of-state cases in-house, building each file and negotiating with insurance carriers to secure policy-limit settlements before suit, and refer out or co-counsel only when a case cannot be resolved pre-litigation. You will manage these cases from intake through resolution while supervising a bilingual case manager and a legal assistant who support your daily workflow. This is a supervising attorney role built on strong processes and organization rather than high-volume trial work, making it an excellent opportunity for an attorney who values structure, efficiency, and meaningful client outcomes. Your proactive approach, courtroom comfort, and ability to manage a remote support team will help ensure our firm continues to deliver exceptional service to the clients and communities we represent.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate incoming case transfers to confirm proper classification, jurisdiction, and file completeness before accepting them into the pod.
  • Manage all Texas minor friendly suit cases, including drafting petitions, proposed orders, and next friend affidavits, and appearing at court approval hearings.
  • Ensure all minor settlements comply with applicable court requirements, including ad litem appointment and proper disbursement procedures.
  • Work out-of-state personal injury cases in-house, developing each file and pursuing policy-limit settlements with insurance carriers prior to litigation.
  • Refer out or arrange co-counsel for out-of-state cases only when they cannot be resolved pre-suit, and coordinate with outside counsel on case status, documentation, and resolution.
  • Ensure all referral and co-counsel agreements are properly executed and documented.
  • Draft, review, and supplement demand packages and negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters under firm oversight.
  • Supervise and direct a bilingual case manager and a legal assistant, including assigning tasks, reviewing work product, and auditing case management records.
  • Maintain accurate case statuses, deadlines, and documentation within our case management system (CasePeer).
  • Monitor all statutes of limitations, hearing dates, and filing deadlines, and proactively flag time-sensitive matters.
  • Provide weekly case status and pipeline reports and participate in regular team meetings.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas, in good standing.
  • Newly Licensed Attorneys welcome, 1–3 years of experience in family law, general civil practice, or personal injury law preferred.
  • Comfortable appearing in court for routine hearings and approval proceedings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to build, follow, and improve standard operating procedures independently.
  • Experience supervising or directing support staff, paralegals, virtual assistants, or legal assistants.
  • Strong legal writing skills and the ability to produce well-organized pleadings, demands, and correspondence.
  • Proficiency with case management software; experience with CasePeer, LeadDocket, or similar platforms is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary of $90,000 – $100,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Uncapped annual profit-driven bonuses tied to firm and pod performance.
  • Health insurance.
  • Dental insurance.
  • Vision insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • Paid time off.
  • Every other Friday off.

Join our team to take ownership of a specialized practice area in a fast-paced, process-driven environment that values organization, accountability, and professional growth! We are committed to fostering a supportive atmosphere where your skills can thrive while making a real and lasting impact on the lives of the clients and communities we serve.
