Vice President, Legal

For our client, we are seeking a Vice President Legal to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a Aerospace & Defense environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $245,000 – $250,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Manage the internal legal team and oversee all legal functions
• Serve as the senior legal advisor to the General Counsel and leadership team
• Actively participate in the Leadership Team for legal and business counsel
• Represent the company’s legal interests before the Board and regulatory agencies
• Advise on contract analysis and corporate governance matters
• Monitor federal and state regulatory compliance affecting the company
• Lead compliance audits and conduct risk assessments

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree with 10+ years' experience
• At least four years in space or defense sectors
• At least four years with US government contracts experience at top law firms or in-house
• Licensed to practice law in good standing in one jurisdiction
• Strong academic credentials and high ethical standards
• Experience negotiating and drafting complex contracts
• Ability to manage a small team of legal professionals
