Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney to join our legal team. Responsibilities
- Cover court dates for cases in both traffic and criminal law
- Represent clients in criminal cases, including arraignments, hearings, trials, and appeals
- Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to develop case strategies
- Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and briefs with precision and clarity
- Negotiate plea agreements and other resolutions with prosecutors to secure favorable outcomes
- Investigate case facts by interviewing witnesses, reviewing evidence, and consulting with experts
- Maintain detailed case files and documentation in the law office management system
- Stay informed on evolving laws related to criminal defense, including constitutional rights and procedural rules
Skills
- Strong knowledge of criminal law procedures and courtroom litigation techniques
- Excellent research skills utilizing LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal research tools
- Proficiency in legal drafting, writing skills, and effective communication with clients and courts
- Experience with negotiation tactics to resolve cases efficiently and favorably
- Familiarity with a broad range of legal areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, landlord-tenant law, and litigation
- Legal administrative experience managing case files and court deadlines effectively
- Ability to work independently within a fast-paced law office environment while collaborating as part of a team

Pay: $75.00 - $250.00 per hour
