We are looking for an experienced legal professional to strengthen Scapia's legal function with a focus on litigation, dispute resolution, regulatory matters, and legal risk management. The role will work closely with business, operations, partnerships, customer experience, finance, compliance, and external stakeholders to manage legal disputes, regulatory communications, commercial matters, and litigation strategy.
The ideal candidate combines strong litigation experience with a practical business mindset and the ability to engage effectively with external counsel, regulators, law enforcement agencies, and other authorities.
Key Responsibilities :
Litigation & Dispute Resolution
• Manage end-to-end litigation matters across consumer, civil, criminal, commercial, and other legal forums.
• Develop litigation strategy in consultation with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
• Draft, review, and manage legal notices, complaints, replies, affidavits, petitions, appeals, and other litigation-related documents.
• Monitor ongoing litigation matters and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate and manage external counsel across jurisdictions.
Regulatory & Authority Engagement
• Draft and review responses to notices, summons, complaints, and communications received from regulatory authorities, statutory bodies, and law enforcement agencies.
• Liaise with government authorities, regulators, and external agencies on legal matters.
• Support investigations, information requests, and other legal proceedings involving external authorities.
Commercial & Legal Advisory
• Provide practical legal advice to business teams on disputes, legal risks, and commercial matters.
• Review and advise on contracts, partnerships, customer-facing matters, and strategic initiatives as required.
• Partner with internal teams to identify legal risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Support legal aspects of new business initiatives, products, and partnerships.
Legal Research & Governance
• Conduct legal research on emerging legal developments, judicial precedents, and regulatory changes.
• Prepare legal opinions, internal guidance notes, and risk assessments.
• Maintain litigation trackers, legal MIS, and dispute management records.
• Monitor legal exposures, contingent liabilities, and dispute-related risks.
Experience & Qualifications
• LL.B. from a reputed institution
• 7–9 years of post-qualification experience
• Significant experience in litigation, dispute resolution, and legal advisory roles
• Experience in fintech, banking, payments, technology, e-commerce, consumer internet, or other regulated industries preferred

This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Head of Finance and will serve as the primary legal partner across the organisation, independently managing litigation, dispute resolution, regulatory matters, commercial legal advisory, and legal risk management.
