Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Junior Lawyer role based in Kozhikode. The Junior Lawyer will assist senior advocates in case preparation, including legal research, drafting pleadings, petitions, contracts, and legal opinions. Daily responsibilities include reviewing case files, organizing documentation, and preparing briefs for court hearings and client meetings. The role involves attending court proceedings, taking notes, coordinating with court staff, and supporting the litigation process. The Junior Lawyer will also interact with clients under supervision, gather facts, maintain case records, and ensure timely follow-up on filings, hearings, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core legal skills, including legal research, case analysis, and drafting of pleadings, notices, and contracts.
- Ability to assist in civil, criminal, family, and property matters, including preparing case summaries and maintaining organized case files.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Malayalam is an advantage.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to client confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior advocates and colleagues, manage time effectively, and handle multiple matters under deadlines.
- LLB (or equivalent law degree) from a recognized university; enrollment with the Bar Council or eligibility to enroll within a short time frame.
- Prior internship or junior-level experience in litigation or law firms is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn and accept mentorship is essential.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications, legal research tools, and digital document management.
