About the Role

We are seeking an Attorney – Legal Intelligence & Research (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on legal research, case law analysis, regulatory interpretation, contract review, compliance assessment, and legal reasoning.

In this role, you will work with AI-generated legal outputs and evaluate their accuracy, completeness, and legal soundness. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for legal intelligence, legal research, compliance automation, document analysis, and legal decision-support workflows.

This position is ideal for attorneys with strong legal research and analytical skills who are interested in contributing to next-generation AI systems in the legal domain.

Responsibilities

• Create deliverables addressing common legal and regulatory scenarios within your area of expertise
• Review and evaluate AI-generated legal research, legal analyses, and legal memoranda
• Assess AI outputs for legal accuracy, logical reasoning, completeness, consistency, and quality
• Analyze statutes, regulations, case law, contracts, agreements, and policy documents
• Identify legal risks, factual inaccuracies, reasoning gaps, compliance concerns, and interpretation errors in AI-generated content
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in legal intelligence and research workflows
• Support projects involving legal research, compliance analysis, contract interpretation, policy review, and regulatory intelligence
• Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards
• Contribute domain expertise to improve AI systems focused on legal reasoning and legal research

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD), LL.B., or equivalent legal qualification
• Active Bar membership or prior qualification to practice law in the United States, India, or another recognized jurisdiction is preferred
• 3+ years of experience as an Attorney, Lawyer, Legal Counsel, Advocate, or related legal professional
• Strong understanding of legal research methodologies, statutory interpretation, case law analysis, and legal reasoning
• Experience reviewing legal documents, contracts, policies, compliance materials, and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong written English communication skills
• Ability to critically evaluate complex legal content and identify inconsistencies or reasoning issues
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, or regulatory bodies
• Exposure to US, Indian, UK, or international legal frameworks
• Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, Bloomberg Law, Practical Law, SCC Online, Manupatra, or similar tools
• Experience in corporate law, commercial law, litigation, regulatory compliance, employment law, intellectual property, or data privacy
• Exposure to legal technology, legal operations, or AI-assisted legal workflows is a plus
