Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent research and writing abilities, and experience with legal documentation and case management. This role involves assisting with legal research, drafting documents, managing case files, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth legal operations. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment, contributing to case preparation and client support.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and iManage to gather relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents.
- Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence with high accuracy.
- Manage case files through organization, filing, and data entry to ensure all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Assist attorneys with preparing for hearings, depositions, and client meetings by organizing materials and scheduling appointments.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones with professional phone etiquette, scheduling appointments, and maintaining calendars.
- Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines, filing deadlines, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Interview clients or witnesses as needed to gather information for cases.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with legal standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in an administrative or clerical role within a legal setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent proofreading, writing skills, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and case management software like iManage.
- Experience with legal drafting, data entry, filing systems, and project management is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform research effectively and accurately interpret legal documents.
- Excellent communication skills including professional phone etiquette.
- Prior experience with interviewing clients or witnesses is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while supporting team objectives.
Pay: $70,000.00-$80,682.10 per year
