Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Personal Injury Legal Assistant to support our legal team in managing personal injury cases. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent research abilities, and a solid understanding of legal procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment dedicated to client advocacy and case management, ensuring smooth operations and effective case progression.

Duties

  • Assist lawyers with case preparation, including drafting legal documents and correspondence
  • Conduct thorough research using LexisNexis and other legal research tools to support case strategies
  • Manage and organize case files using Cosmolex and other document management systems
  • Perform data entry accurately into case management software and maintain meticulous records
  • Proofread legal documents for accuracy, clarity, and proper formatting before submission
  • Coordinate interviews with clients, witnesses, and experts, ensuring timely scheduling and follow-up
  • Handle filing of legal documents with courts and agencies in compliance with deadlines
  • Maintain professional phone etiquette when communicating with clients, courts, and vendors
  • Support project management tasks related to ongoing cases, including tracking deadlines and court dates

Experience

  • Prior administrative experience in a legal setting is preferred
  • Familiarity with personal injury law or general litigation processes is a plus
  • Proficiency with LexisNexis or similar legal research platforms is desirable
  • Experience with iManage or comparable document management systems is advantageous
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting correspondence, summaries, and legal documents
  • Attention to detail in proofreading and data entry to ensure accuracy in all work products
  • Effective interviewing skills to gather relevant case information from clients and witnesses

This position requires a proactive individual capable of managing multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining professionalism. The successful candidate will be integral to supporting our attorneys in delivering exceptional client service through diligent case management.

Pay: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
