JURISolutions Legal is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as General Counsel for our healthcare client.
About The Company Our client is a leading U.S. women’s healthcare provider founded in 1998 and headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The PE backed company specializes in obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) and offers a broad range of women’s health services across all life stages, from adolescence through menopause
Position Overview The General Counsel will serve as the Company’s chief legal officer and key strategic advisor to the Executive Team. This executive will run a lean legal department and oversee all legal, regulatory, compliance, governance, and risk management matters across the organization.
Role And Responsibilities
- Serve as trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership team, and Board of Directors.
- Oversee compliance with federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Corporate Practice of Medicine Doctrines, State Licensure and Scope-of-Practice requirements, etc.
- Lead corporate governance matters and ensure board compliance and documentation integrity
- Draft, review, and negotiate various types of agreements, including but not limited to physician agreements, independent contractor agreements, medical director agreements, restrictive covenant and compensation structures, executive employment agreements, business associate agreements, management services agreements, data use agreements, vendor agreements, real estate and facility agreements, etc.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school; active Florida bar membership in good standing
- 10+ years of legal experience advising healthcare services organizations operating across multiple states
- Experience leading a small, high-impact legal team
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate with board-level stakeholders
- A pragmatic problem-solver who balances legal risk with business growth
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
- Strategic yet hands-on, willing to draft, negotiate, and execute directly
- Calm under pressure and capable of guiding executive leadership through complex regulatory matters
- Highly ethical, discreet, and trusted
