About this role
Cheeley Legal is a solo family, estates and litigation practice in the northern Gwinnett County area. The firm seeks a qualified Legal Assistant and Paralegal who enjoys learning and working as a team. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, at least two years of office administrative experience, at least one year of experience in a law firm and is very proficient with Microsoft Office and computer software. Local candidates only. Part-time to full-time.
Duties: Legal Assistant/Paralegal will:
- Perform all administrative and associated legal duties under the supervision of the attorney for a family law, estate, litigation and general civil practice law firm located in northern Gwinnett County (https://legalappeal.com);
- Manage client matters,
- Interact with clients, attorneys, courts and others,
- Manage billing and accounting,
- Research,
- Prepare legal-related documents,
- Gather information, and
- Assist the lawyer in all aspects of operating a law practice.

- Fluent English language
- Residence within 30 minutes of office location.
Hours: 32 to 40 hours weekly.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Associate's degree with paralegal certificate and at least one year of law office experience.
Specific Skills:
- Excellent Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Must be proficient with grammar and spelling.
- Accounting and bookkeeping.
- Case management.
- Legal research.
- Keyboard accuracy and speed.
- Computer literacy.
Experience: Prior legal assistant or paralegal experience is preferred. At least 1 year general office experience is required.
Tobacco and vape-free premises.
