This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced renewable energy lawyer to join a growing clean energy platform supporting the development, financing, construction, acquisition and long-term operation of utility-scale wind, solar and energy storage projects across North Americ
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting transactions across the full project lifecycle, including development, M&A, project financing, construction, asset management and operations while partnering closely with commercial, technical and executive stakeholders.
- Structure, draft, review and negotiate power purchase agreements, EPC contracts, balance of plant agreements, interconnection agreements and other project-related contracts.
- Support project financings, including debt and tax equity transactions.
- Advise on acquisitions, divestments, project asset sales, joint ventures and partnership arrangements.
- Provide strategic legal guidance to development, project finance, construction, procurement, asset management and executive leadership teams.
- Support negotiations relating to power sales, environmental attributes, virtual PPAs and hedging arrangements.
- Manage external counsel and coordinate legal workstreams across complex transactions.
- Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks while helping drive successful project execution
- Support the long-term operation and management of renewable energy assets.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified attorney admitted to practice within the United States.
- 8+ years of legal experience gained within a leading law firm and/or in-house environment.
- Strong transactional experience across renewable energy, infrastructure, power generation or project finance.
- Proven track record negotiating and closing complex commercial agreements.
- Experience supporting project development, M&A, financing, construction or asset management transactions.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal risk against business objectives.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
- Able to operate effectively within a fast-paced, collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.
- Prior renewable energy experience is highly desirable.
