ATTORNEY -CIVIL LITIGATION

POSITION: The Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor is seeking an attorney to work in our Civil Litigation Unit.

DUTIES: Include, but are not limited to:

• Receiving, tracking and handling Notices of Claim;
• Handling civil actions were the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, its employees and/or agents/representatives are named parties or otherwise involved, including but not limited to matters grounded in torts, labor and employment, foreclosures and bankruptcy;
• Receiving, tracking and responding to civil subpoenas, including but not limited to filing of motions to quash as appropriate;
• Acting as a liaison between the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office and the County's Law Department with respect to any civil matter;
• Acting as a Liaison between the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office and private law firms assigned to represent the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office and/or its employees, agents and/or representatives;
• Providing status reports to members of the Executive staff as requested;
• Assisting with OPRA matters; and
• Related tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Include, but are not limited to:

• 5-8 years of civil practice experience;
• Member in Good Standing with the New Jersey State Bar; and
• New Jersey State Residency required within 1 year of hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
