About this role

Forbush Legal, PLLC – Colorado Springs, Colorado In-Office Position

At Forbush Legal, PLLC, we love what we do.

Since 1996, our boutique law firm has helped families and business owners protect what matters most—their loved ones, their legacies, and their life's work. We focus exclusively on estate planning, probate, trust administration, and business planning.

We often call what we do "Happy Law" because, unlike many areas of legal practice, we spend our days helping clients create plans, preserve family harmony, protect loved ones, and gain peace of mind.

We are an inch wide and a mile deep in our concentration. We believe in excellence, compassion, integrity, and relationships—not transactions.

Most importantly, we believe that finding the right team member matters far more than simply filling a position. We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to client service, teamwork, and excellence and who wants to become an important part of our firm's future.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to serve as the primary support professional for one of our attorneys.

This position is ideal for an experienced paralegal who enjoys serving as an attorney's right hand and takes pride in keeping both clients and cases moving forward.

You will play a critical role in helping manage attorney workflow, client matters, calendars, deadlines, document preparation, court filings, and overall case progression. Your success will directly contribute to your attorney's success and to the exceptional experience we strive to provide every client.

The ideal candidate already understands the life cycle of an estate planning matter, probate estate, or trust administration matter and can confidently help guide files from opening to completion.

This is not simply a drafting position.

This is a leadership role within the legal team that requires initiative, organization, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help others.

What You'll Do

As the direct support professional for one of our attorneys, you will:

  • Manage attorney calendars and scheduling priorities
  • Assist with attorney caseload management and workflow organization
  • Prepare and draft estate planning documents and supporting materials
  • Assist with probate and trust administration matters from opening through closing
  • Prepare court pleadings, inventories, accountings, and related probate documents
  • Coordinate and file documents with Colorado courts and governmental agencies
  • Monitor court deadlines and filing requirements
  • Coordinate client communications and follow-up
  • Review files for completeness and identify missing information
  • Prepare attorney meeting materials and signing packages
  • Assist with trust funding and implementation matters
  • Coordinate fiduciary communications and asset collection efforts
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure matters continue progressing
  • Coordinate execution appointments and post-signing tasks
  • Serve as a trusted resource for clients and team members
  • Anticipate attorney needs and proactively solve problems
  • Help create an outstanding client experience from start to finish

What Success Looks Like

The right person is more than a paralegal.

You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive. You enjoy creating order from complexity and helping others succeed. You take ownership of your work, communicate effectively, and genuinely care about doing things the right way.

You do not wait to be told what needs to happen next—you see it, address it, and keep things moving.

You understand that your role is not simply to complete tasks. Your role is to help your attorney operate at the highest level possible while ensuring every client receives exceptional service.

You take pride in being the person your attorney can rely upon, your team can trust, and your clients appreciate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of estate planning, business planning, probate, or trust administration paralegal experience
  • Experience drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, deeds, related estate planning documents, and business/LLC documentation
  • Experience handling probate and trust administration matters
  • Familiarity with Colorado probate procedures and court filings
  • Experience preparing court pleadings and probate-related documents
  • Experience with WealthCounsel strongly preferred
  • Experience with Clio strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong sense of professionalism and accountability
