Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonus

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated Litigation Associate Attorney with approximately three to seven years of litigation experience who possesses strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.

The ideal candidate may come from a plaintiff’s practice, insurance defense practice, State’s Attorney’s Office, Attorney General’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, or other litigation-intensive environment.

This position offers substantial opportunities for professional growth while working closely with experienced trial attorneys on sophisticated and high-exposure litigation matters.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop into an increasingly independent litigator while receiving direct mentorship and guidance from senior attorneys.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Litigation Support and Case Development

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda.
• Draft pleadings, motions, responses, and appellate-related filings.
• Analyze complex liability, causation, and damages issues.
• Assist with development of litigation strategy.
• Review and analyze medical records, expert materials, discovery responses, and investigative records.

Discovery and Motion Practice

• Draft and respond to written discovery.
• Prepare motions and supporting briefs.
• Prepare discovery-related correspondence and compliance materials.
• Participate in hearings and motion arguments.

Depositions and Witness Preparation

• Prepare clients and witnesses for deposition.
• Conduct and defend fact witness depositions.
• Assist with expert witness preparation.
• Participate in physician, corporate representative, and expert depositions.

Client and Case Management

• Maintain regular communication with clients.
• Assist with case evaluations and settlement analyses.
• Prepare litigation status reports.
• Coordinate with experts, consultants, and investigators.

Trial Preparation

• Prepare witness outlines.
• Draft motions in limine.
• Prepare jury instructions and verdict forms.
• Organize trial exhibits and evidence.
• Assist with trial preparation and courtroom proceedings.

PREFERRED BACKGROUNDS

The firm welcomes candidates with experience from:

• Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation Insurance Defense Litigation Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Illinois Attorney General’s Office Public Defender’s Office Commercial Litigation Civil Rights Litigation

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing in Illinois.
• Three to seven years of litigation experience.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Deposition experience.
• Motion practice experience.
• Courtroom experience.
• Trial preparation experience.
• Experience analyzing medical records and expert reports.
• Experience handling complex litigation matters.

COMPENSATION

Base Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Performance Bonus: Additional compensation may be available based upon:
