Our client is a design-led, asset-backed property business with a significant UK footprint and an established presence across the London market. Operating a premium offering within the commercial real estate sector, the business is entering an exciting new phase of growth and is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its legal team.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Counsel, this is a broad and visible role offering the opportunity to act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders across the business. The successful candidate will combine hands-on legal delivery with strategic input, helping to shape legal frameworks, support major projects and manage legal risk across a growing, asset-heavy organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and advise on real estate‑related matters, including development, construction, asset management and operational risk issues.
• Lead the drafting, review and negotiation of complex commercial contracts, including leases, licences, framework agreements and non‑standard arrangements.
• Support acquisitions, disposals, financings and other strategic business initiatives.
• Advise stakeholders across real estate, commercial, finance, operations, development, people and leadership teams.
• Identify and manage legal and regulatory risk across the organisation.
• Support governance, compliance, data protection and broader regulatory matters.
• Manage disputes and external legal advisers where required.
• Mentor more junior members of the legal team and help drive best practice across the function.

About You

• Qualified lawyer with 5+ years' PQE.
• Experience advising within an in-house environment, ideally with exposure to real estate, infrastructure or other asset-heavy sectors .
• Broad grounding in commercial real estate matters , alongside experience in at least one additional area such as corporate, construction or disputes.
• Comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders and operating in a fast-moving, evolving business.
• Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused, with excellent judgement and communication skills.
