About this role
A global professional services organisation with a strong international footprint (20+ offices) is looking to appoint a senior lawyer into its Office of the General Counsel. The legal function is well-established globally (c.30+ lawyers across multiple locations), with a clear structure and strong senior leadership. The business is going through a period of growth and transformation, making this a particularly dynamic time to join. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and have high visibility across the organisation, contributing to the ongoing development of the legal function.
This is a key role reporting directly to a London-based Deputy General Counsel, with a broad remit across corporate governance, restructuring, and regulatory advisory.
The role involves:
- Playing a central part in supporting a complex and evolving business
- Advising on corporate governance across a multi-entity international structure
- Ongoing restructuring and organisational change initiatives
- Advising on regulatory matters impacting multiple jurisdictions, and embedding processes, frameworks and governance across the group
This is a hands-on position, requiring close partnership with the business. You will be expected to take ownership of projects, drive initiatives forward, and operate beyond a purely advisory capacity.
Ideal candidate:
- Qualified lawyer with solid in-house or private practice experience (5+ PQE), with a strong background in corporate governance and/or regulatory work
- Comfortable managing complexity across multiple entities and jurisdictions, pragmatic and detail-oriented, and able to operate at pace
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, leading on key initiatives, and motivated to build, improve and embed processes within a fast-moving environment
The team is high-performing, collaborative and supportive, with high expectations. This role suits someone who is proactive, accountable and comfortable rolling up their sleeves.
The position is London-based, with typically four days in the office.
