About this role

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Debt Recovery Paralegal to join our legal team. This role involves supporting the debt recovery process through effective communication, organisation, and utilisation of legal and administrative skills. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic legal environment, contributing to the efficient resolution of debt recovery cases.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing debt recovery cases from initiation through to resolution, ensuring compliance with relevant legal procedures.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, correspondence, and reports using Microsoft Word and other Office applications.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, debtors, and external agencies via phone, email, and written correspondence to facilitate debt recovery efforts.
  • Maintain accurate case files and records using organisational skills and IT systems.
  • Monitor case progress and update relevant parties on developments in a timely manner.
  • Organise schedules for court dates, meetings, and follow-up actions to ensure deadlines are met efficiently.
  • Support the legal team with administrative tasks related to debt recovery processes, including data entry and document management using Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Requirements

  • Proven communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with clients, debtors, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Fluency in English with clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT literacy with the ability to adapt to new software systems as required.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of legal procedures related to debt recovery is desirable but not essential. Pay: From £24,420.00 per year
