A well-established fintech company with a strong presence in Japan is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its growing business. The company operates a digital financial platform serving both consumers and enterprise clients, and continues to expand its product offerings and partnerships.

The Role

• Provide legal advice across a broad range of areas including corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements (e.g., partnerships, vendor, and service contracts)
• Support product development and business teams on legal and compliance considerations
• Monitor and advise on relevant regulatory developments, particularly within the financial services sector
• Liaise with external counsel and manage legal risks across the organization
• Support internal governance, policies, and compliance initiatives

Your Skills

• Qualified lawyer in Japan or other jurisdiction (or equivalent legal experience)
• 4-8+ years of legal experience (in-house and/or private practice)
• Experience in fintech, financial services, or technology sectors preferred
• Strong understanding of Japanese laws and regulations; exposure to financial regulations is a plus
• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
