Senior Legal Manager

The Role

You will be the sole in-house Legal Counsel and single point of contact for all legal matters across every business vertical -Marketing, Operations, HR, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, Tech, New Product Development, and Catalogue. The core systems are already built (contract repository, high-risk clause approval mechanism, real-time legal tracker). Your job is to run them, improve them, and keep the business moving without legal becoming a bottleneck.

This is a high-ownership, high-volume role. There is no senior legal cover. You will be expected to operate independently from day one.

What You'll Own

Contracts (70–80% of the role)

• Draft, review, structure, and negotiate the full range of internal and third-party agreements at high volume (~320/year at current run-rate)
• Make third-party paper company-favourable; identify dealbreakers vs. negotiables under time pressure
• Advise on and draft Terms & Conditions, legal disclaimers for marketing and promotional content, and wallet/coupon structures

Compliance & Regulatory

• Handle consumer complaints daily with legally compliant, brand-aligned responses
• Manage EPR registration and CPCB plastic-waste regulatory returns with vendor coordination
• Review and strengthen internal policies -POSH, Anti-Corruption, InfoSec, Vulnerability Disclosure - and keep them current
• Operationalise regulatory changes (D&C Act, telemedicine guidelines, DPDPA) across product and operations teams

Litigation & IPR

• Provide end-to-end litigation support - drafting, external counsel coordination, case strategy- and keep leadership informed
• Manage the trademark portfolio: objections, counter-statements, centralized status tracker
• Respond to legal notices on a timely, risk-mitigated basis

Cross-functional Advisory

• Be the first call for ~20 stakeholders a day across all verticals on interpretation, notices, and risk questions
• Coordinate with Catalogue and CSR on product listing/delisting per regulatory orders
