About this role
Commercial Litigation Associate (Junior) — Sabio Law LLP | Brampton, ON
Sabio Law LLP is a commercial law boutique acting for businesses, founders, and individuals across the GTA in dispute resolution, real estate, commercial transactions, and estates. We are looking for a junior litigation associate — one to three years at the bar — who is hungry to learn the craft of commercial litigation and grow into a real advocate with us.
What you'll do
- Support senior counsel across the litigation lifecycle: pleadings, motions, discoveries, research, and hearing preparation in civil and commercial disputes.
- Get courtroom exposure early — appearances in the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, and Commercial List, with senior counsel beside you.
- Work on security enforcement, including receiverships, and debtor-creditor disputes involving guarantees, fraud, transfers at undervalue, and injunctive relief.
- Contribute to shareholder and business disputes and construction lien matters.
- Take growing carriage of your own files as your judgment sharpens, with a team behind you.
What you bring
- One to three years at the Ontario bar (or about to be called), in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- An LLB or JD from a recognized institution.
- Strong written and oral advocacy, real attention to detail, and the organizational discipline to manage competing deadlines.
- A genuine appetite to learn, and the temperament to work closely with a team.
Why Sabio
- Direct mentorship from partners and senior litigators who are invested in your development.
- A broad, sophisticated caseload from your first year — commercial disputes, enforcement, and construction liens, not document review in a silo.
- Health benefits, plus a performance bonus tied to your contribution and growth.
- An origination incentive — when you bring in a client, you share in the work you create.
- A firm on a clear growth path, across from the A. Grenville and William Davis Courthouse in Brampton, where a junior can build courtroom skills fast.
The partners here take professional development seriously — your growth is part of the firm's growth.
Any offer is conditional on background and reference checks, including a criminal record check, credit check, and employment verification. All enquiries are held in confidence.
This is a role for a lawyer who runs their practice like an owner — sets the pace, carries the outcome, and is paid accordingly. If you're looking to clock hours, this isn't the seat. If you're looking to build, it is.
