About this role

MEGT has spent decades connecting Australians with meaningful employment and training pathways. Now, as the organisation enters a period of deliberate structural evolution, an exceptional executive is needed to lead the charge, someone who understands that transformation isn't just about process, it's about people and purpose.

The Scope of the Role

Reporting to the CEO and operating as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Executive General Manager - M&A & Enterprise Transformation will shape and execute MEGT's strategic growth agenda. This is an enterprise-wide mandate encompassing:

  • Leading end-to-end mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnership activity, from origination through to integration
  • Driving enterprise-wide transformation programs that align people, systems, and structure to MEGT's long-term mission
  • Providing commercial counsel to the CEO and Board on growth opportunities within the employment services and vocational education sectors
  • Building organisational capability and change readiness across a geographically dispersed workforce

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated executive leadership of M&A transactions and post-merger integration at scale
  • Experience leading enterprise transformation in a complex, multi-site organisation
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into operational outcomes
  • Proven success engaging Boards, senior stakeholders, and external partners through significant change
  • Experience within the Group Training and/or Registered Training Organisation model
  • A leadership style grounded in accountability, collaboration, and genuine respect for the communities MEGT serves

Why MEGT

MEGT is not a typical NFP. As one of Australia's largest apprenticeship network providers, it operates at genuine scale — and it takes its social mission seriously. You'll join an organisation where commercial rigour and community impact are not competing priorities but complementary ones. Salary packaging is available, adding real value to your remuneration. The Melbourne-based executive team is cohesive, direct, and deeply committed to getting this next chapter right. This is a role where your strategic work will have a measurable effect on the livelihoods of thousands of Australians each year.
