Corporate Lawyer – 4- month Contract

Role Overview

Elevate had partnered with a global top-tier law firm to identify an experienced lawyer for a 4-month onward secondment with a leading energy group in Perth. This opportunity will see the successful lawyer embedded within a high-performing legal team, supporting a range of corporate and transactional workstreams.

The role offers exposure to complex commercial matters, with a primary focus on transactional activity alongside broader legal support as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and assist on end-to-end M&A transactions, including involvement in deal execution and related workstreams
• Contribute to due diligence processes, including identifying key legal and commercial risks
• Assist with drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, including sale and purchase agreements (SPAs)
• Support early-stage project development activities, including review of project agreements and associated diligence
• Provide general corporate legal support across a range of internal functions, including finance, disclosure, technology, and property matters
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide practical and commercially focused legal advice
• Liaise with external counsel and support coordination of specialist legal advice where required

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 6+ years post-admission experience in corporate law, ideally gained within a top or mid-tier law firm and/or in-house environment
• Solid background in private M&A transactions, including exposure to due diligence, drafting, and deal execution
• Ability to work autonomously on transactions with appropriate supervision
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to provide clear, pragmatic legal advice
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence working across legal and business teams
• Experience or interest in the energy, infrastructure, or projects sector is advantageous
