Data Privacy Specialist

Data privacy is one of the fastest-growing areas of legal practice across the GCC. As regulators raise the bar and organisations invest heavily in digital transformation and AI, demand for experienced, commercially minded privacy counsel has never been higher.

RAYNE is expanding its consultant team to meet that demand and is seeking experienced Data Privacy professionals based across the UAE. As a consultant at RAYNE, you will be embedded directly within client organisations, functioning as a genuine extension of their in-house legal teams.

Secondments vary in length, sector, and legal discipline. Throughout every engagement, you will have the full backing of the RAYNE team behind you. Our model is founded on trust, flexibility, and lasting relationships, with our clients and our consultants alike.

What you'll be doing:

You will advise clients on a broad range of data protection, privacy, and information governance matters, including:

• Compliance with the UAE PDPL, DIFC Data Protection Law, GDPR, and other applicable frameworks
• Drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, privacy notices, consent mechanisms, and vendor contracts
• Privacy impact assessments, transfer assessments, and compliance reviews
• Cross-border data transfers, cybersecurity incidents, and breach response
• Privacy considerations across technology, AI, cloud, and outsourcing projects
• Development and implementation of privacy governance frameworks, policies, and training programmes

What we're looking for:

• A qualified lawyer or experienced data privacy professional with a strong track record in privacy, data protection, or information governance
• Ideally over 5 years’ experience in a relevant role, whether in private practice, in-house, a consultancy, or a regulatory environment
• Deep familiarity with UAE, DIFC, and/or international privacy frameworks
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Pragmatic, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in fast-paced environments
• Fluency in English essential; Arabic highly advantageous
